What's Your Why?

What motivates you to live a healthy life?

Is it...

family?

longevity of life?

physical appearance?

confidence?

a desire to be active?

The truth is, especially for all you other non fitness lovers out there, you will 𝗡𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 stick to a health and fitness routine consistently and long-term unless you have a 𝑑𝑒𝑒𝑝-𝑟𝑜𝑜𝑡𝑒𝑑, 𝑢𝑛𝑤𝑎𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 ᴡʜʏ.

There has to be something significant and valuable enough to you that will drive you. Something that means enough to you that you will consistently get out of bed early to workout, turn away that third piece of bread at dinner, or take time to rest yourself properly even when your list of things to do is endless.

Personally, I had zero “ᴡʜʏs“ for working out or watching my nutrition until marriage. It was just me, I was content with my physical appearance, working out seemed time consuming and to be honest just not fun, and I had no present reason to consider the long term consequences of my unhealthy routine of avoiding exercise and eating whatever whenever I wanted.

After marriage, choosing to not workout or care about my health became selfish. Why? Because my why became to live the longest, healthiest life possible with the man of my dreams and our future little ones.

Do I want to look good- of course! Do I want to be confident in a bikini- absolutely! But those aren’t what convince me to to workout in the middle of the winter when it’s cold and I just want to stay snuggled under the covers. What keeps me going is the thought of being able to live an adventurous, healthy life with my kids and maybe one day even theirs.

So my question again... 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑤ℎ𝑦? What will keep you looking ahead even on the days you have zero motivation?
